The landscape painting portion, above, is of Lake Dillon, Colorado. See more of the painting below. I hope to offer my paintings as prints in the near future.

While visiting Colorado for the first time, where my eldest sister lived for many years, we stopped by Lake Dillon, and I found it very spectacular with its aqua blue water with the sun shining on it from above, and with the Rocky Mountains on the horizon. I took many snapshots at the time, and later painted this composition and figured out how to get the sunshine to sparkle on the waters in my painting. The shadows were quite a challenge, but I worked on that until it was the way I wanted it to be.Below are more renditions of my other landscapes that I painted after seeing Colorado more, and other paintings of scenes in MInnesota, some imaginary. Later on I hope to offer prints of these paintings for sale.

I have traveled on vacations to Canada, Colorado, and Wyoming, and most recently to Arizona and California. And of course have enjoyed the lakes and forests, and cities, of Minnesota. Most of the paintings in this collection shown on this website, are of mountain scenes from Colorado, and some of scenes from my home state of Minnesota. I enjoy to use Acrylics for my paintings, as that media of paint dries faster than oils for example. I usually start painting the background, the sky, and add layers on as the subjects get closer to the viewer. Most of the paintingw are real places, but some are from memories. I find it best for me to use photographs that I have taken for reference while painting. And so where I have traveled, I have taken many photographs with my cell phone mostly and so have many subjects to choose from also for future paintings.
